Florida is losing its population

Norcross Aug 13th, 2009General Ramblings

I read in the St. Pete Times today that for the first time since the 1940s, Florida’s population has decreased. I am not totally surprised by the finding, but still kind of in a strange mood about it. Is this the end to an era? Is there some good that’s going to come out of this? It’s hard to say really. But, I do know that this has had an affect on me. As someone who really loves Florida, I wonder what opportunities lie in waiting. And equally, what opportunities are going to be lost because of this. Like I said, I’m not surprised to see that this has finally happened, but I worry that it’s more likely going to get worse.

Sorry about the lack of a link to the article. I couldn’t find it when I checked just now, and I’m in a hurry to get out of the house.
